2020 // Film Photography
2020 // Film Photography
While 2020 raged on in all the awful ways we’ve come to know too well, I found a groove throughout the summer especially of shooting more film than ever. I had two of my first full-film photoshoots & booked my first wedding requesting extended film coverage. Film photography is one of my favorite creative endeavors lately & it was not easy at all to narrow down even this bunch of 100 or so photos! I hope you find some enjoyment & inspiration throughout this blog! Feel free to reach out for questions here on this blog or on social media @tannerburgephoto.

Film Stocks
The majority of the film used throughout this blog is modern professional Kodak film like Portra 400 or Portra 160, but also Kodak Gold 200 on several occasions. Halfway through the summer I switched to Fujifilm Pro 400h films in favor of the green tones that weren’t quite as overbearing. Then throughout the year I also used a few black & white films I really love like Ilford Delta 3200 and Ilford Delta 400. At the end of the day I do still process all of my film scans (developed by The Darkroom Lab) on Adobe Lightroom. I use a slight preset of my own included in my new Custom Preset Pack available here!
Film Cameras
The vast majority of my film this year was shot on a Nikon F100 camera with a more modern Nikon 58mm f/1.4 lens. It’s become one of my favorite setups for film because of the uniqueness of the lens & the ease of use for the camera with autofocus. I do also have & use a Canon AE-1 with a classic 50mm f/1.8 lens that you can see samples from sprinkled throughout this blog.
