Not a year after I photographed Leah’s big sister’s wedding, she contacted me about the possibility of a small destination wedding on the beach. Two things I knew off the bat - 1. This was going to be a super fun trip with some awesome families, & 2. Since I’m a full-time teacher, I don’t know how many other destination weddings I might get a chance to be a part of!

We did engagements together at Petit Jean, then shot Leah’s Bridals at the Arkansas State Capital & things were all geared up for a wonderful weekend on the Gulf Coast. Most of the time in Arkansas I am super conscious of the confused weather in Spring season, but I don’t think any of us anticipated a big storm rolling in over the coast. It had us checking the radar & pushing our schedule back all day until the last minute when everything opened up & worked out perfectly.

I have to commend the families & friends who were so patient & graceful throughout the day. When you have a small, intimate wedding like this it feels like a victory for everyone when you can pull it off. I know Leah dreamed of this day since we was a little girl & it was a privilege to help make those dreams come true!

These intimate wedding settings are my absolute favorite! A lot of people think “elopement” means you have to go get married in a courthouse, but small, family-only affairs like this where the focus is completely on you & what you really imagined your day looking like can be considered elopements.
